Register now for the 22nd CGE Annual Meeting
Hosted by Dallas Baptist University
Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25, 2009

CGE and DALLAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY cordially invite all presidents, academic officers, international program directors, faculty and interested staff to Dallas Baptist University, for the annual meeting of the Consortium for Global Education (CGE) to be held from Wednesday evening until Friday noon, September 23-25, 2009.

A number of overseas educators and colleagues are planning on joining us to give a new sense of partnership and views toward growing international  collaboration.  Dr. James Kim, President of Yanbian University, from  northern China, will speak at the Thursday evening Banquet and participate in the workshop for University Partnerships and Joint Degree Programs.  Additional workshop sessions and general meeting times will focus on the ways that CGE can add value to each international program:

  • Summer Study Abroad Programs (Arabic offered in Amman, Jordan, and a newly designed Spanish program).
  • International Programs that aid interdisciplinary faculty in planning Outcome Assessments.
  • CGE new recruiting initiatives through AmeriStudy.
  • Integrating international programs, internships, and collaborative research with CGE Overseas Partners.
  • CGE’s Professional Training and Study Abroad through GlobalConnect which include Joint Degree Programs: working models for 1 +3 program, the American Studies Institute in Qingdao, and degree program delivered overseas.

PRE-MEETING  FOR INTERNATIONAL DIRECTORS OR THE GLOBAL STUDIES/PROGRAM DESIGNATED FACULTY:

CGE will provide a training experience for International Directors (or a key faculty member from their campus designated to assist with the content information of their international programs) to learn the new value sections and benefits of the new CGE website hosted with SchoolInSites.  Many of you met the leaders of SchoolInSites last year who specialize in providing a bundled software system that enables educational entities to share communication and content with many client groups.  This training will be from 3 - 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23.  The website will be highlighted during the CGE conference and it will help to have one person from each member university already up to speed on the benefits for international programs and especially recruiting international students.
