The Southwest University for Ethnic Groups located in Chengdu, China provides CGE with a great opportunity for a rich cultural understanding and study of the more than 48 different minority groups represented in their student body.  Pictured from left to right:  Rory Lee, President of Louisiana College; Carolyn Bishop, CGE; Feenie Midkiff; Don Midkiff, VP of Mercer; President Su Keming, Southwest University for Ethnic Groups; Larry McSwain, President of Shorter; and two minority university Vice Presidents.

The Southwest University for Ethnic Groups houses an impressive museum collection of minority group artifacts and costumes of national dress.  Included is a portion of a Tibetan temple with exhibits of paintings and ornate wooden carvings. Standing left to right are Dr. Don Midkiff, Dr. Larry McSwain, and Dr. Rory Lee.
