Introduction of Ludong University

Ludong University, is under the jurisdiction of Shandong Provincial Government, and located in Yantai, a beautiful seaside city in the northeast of Shandong Peninsula. Approved by the State Academic Degree Committee, it has qualifications for conferring bachelor and master degrees. The university now has 21 schools and departments and 3 teaching centers. It has 49 specialties for undergraduates and 34 for postgraduates, relating to philosophy, economics, law, pedagogy, liberal arts, history, science, and technology. Its enrollment on campus is 22,000 students, among whom 450 are postgraduates and about 300 are overseas students.

Teaching Positions for the 2007-2008 Academic Year (from September 2007 to July, 2008)

We would like to employ 4-6 teachers of English from English-speaking countries Their main teaching task is to teach English and business courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students. We would also like to employ 2-3 teachers to teach biology, linguistics or literature.

Requirements

  1. Native English Speakers
  2. In good Health and under 65 years old
  3. Bachelor’s degree or higher. For teachers of biology, literature or linguistics, they should have master’s degree.
  4. Teaching task: 14-16 class periods per week. One class period is 40 minutes.

What we could offer

  1. Salary: 3000-4000 RMB per month
  2. Housing: unshared apartment with a bedroom, a study, a sitting room, a kitchen, a toilet. We provide a TV set, a DVD player, a washing machine, a computer, an air-conditioner, water heater for showering and some other necessary facilities
  3. Travel allowance: 2200 RMB a year.
  4. A paid winter vacation if the contract is one year long.
  5. Health Care. We will follow the medical regulations set by the State Foreign Experts Bureau. The medical care excludes the expenses incurred in registration, doctor’s home visits, transportation to and from hospital, fitting false teeth, cleaning teeth, undergoing cosmetic surgery, massage, buying spectacles, boarding in hospital and non-medical tonics. During the period of contract, medical expenses of Party B in Taiwan, Hongkong, Macao and outside China will be covered by the teacher him/herself.
  6. Insurance. We will buy insurance for the teacher.
  7. One-way Airfare from Yantai to the teacher’s hometown
