2010 CGE Annual Meeting

Registration will open at 5:30 PM on Wednesday on the Union campus and again on Thursday morning at 8:15 AM before the first session opens at 9:00 AM.

Events begin on Wednesday evening the 22nd with a Welcome event at 7:30 PM hosted by President David Dockery.

The CGE Executive Board will meet for dinner at 5:30 PM and then join the Welcome Event.

The CGE Business Meeting will begin at 4:00 PM on Thursday and the Banquet hosted by Union will be on Thursday evening with a delightful program.

The CGE Annual Meeting will close at 12:00 Noon on Friday.

Highlights for the 2010 meeting will be the presentations from stellar international guests including: Dr. Xia, President of Qingdao University host of the CGE and Qingdao University Sino-American Institute;  other guests from Qingdao University and Huawen Mandarin College of QU;  Dr. Kyle Usrey, President of Lithuania LCC; Dr. Chinda Tejavanija and other leaders from Sripatum University in Thailand and their International College; Dr. James Kim, President of YUST in China; Dr. Nabil Costa, President of the Lebanese Society of Education and Social Development, Fred Tiedemann from the CGE Jordan Center;  representatives from the new CGE Lebanon Center; International Directors from UK universities- Reading University and Cardiff University; and others.

Workshops will focus on CGE’s efforts for OutBound services and InBound services and support for representatives at the CGE member university and colleges in the International Admissions and International Program sectors.  Flagship universities who are participants in the Global Connections (OutBound) semester and short term study abroad programs will present their successes and developing of the CGE models.  CGE participants in overseas centers and partner hubs (Jordan, Lebanon, Beijing, Bangkok et al) will share about the AmeriStudy opportunities (InBound).  New cooperative programs will be introduced and CGE Start Up Grant programs will be reported.
