Faculties represented among CGE Member Schools express a growing interest in teaching one of their courses overseas.Students want to travel abroad and gain credit for courses in their degree programs. GCE overseas partners want to provide a safe campus with both academic and logistical support for these teaching and study opportunities. This is a win-win-win for faculty-students-and overseas partners!! For the summer of 2004, CGE is recommending new locations for CGE member school faculty to teach and allow enrollment in their classes for students from their own institution, CGE-wide school enrollment, and English speaking students at overseas partner schools. Two very safe and academically str4ong locations for courses are SripatumUniversity in Bangkok, Thailand and IHEC in Tunis, Tunisia.CGE faculty selected courses in business, language, cultures and regional perspectives can be taught on the Thailand and Tunisian campuses. The AmericanUniversity in Sharjah will offer their facilities for any courses with the option of adding a study on Middle Eastern culture and language taught by the overseas partner faculty.Spanish language courses and culture can be taken at AlicanteUniversity in southern Spain.French courses can be taken at OrleansUniversity near Paris and again at IHEC in Tunis. If you are faculty at a CGE member school and have a course you would consider teaching overseas during the summer of 2004, please contact the CGE office for recommendations of institutions that can provide space, logistical help, and a stimulating cultural background for field trip experiences!
